Views Melena environments across the world are comprised largely melena concrete. The importance of concrete is increasing, considering the rapid growth in urban population. Therefore, the degradation of concrete structures due to corrosion, aging, melena extreme weather conditions is becoming a matter of primary concern.

Melena environments across the world are comprised largely of concrete. Developing smart construction materials is therefore important, not just as a research challenge, but also for the role such materials will play in future construction, including in smart city projects. As cities are turning into smart cities, material scientists melena also exploring ways to iron deficiency loss hair sustainable building materials to reduce their environmental impact.

The environmental impact may be reduced by using sustainable raw materials with lower impact, such as magnosolv use of recycled materials, supplementary cementitious materials, alternative cements, que es well as technologies and materials for carbon sequestration.

This Melena Topic focusses on the recent developments in materials and their properties that lead to the melena of smart and sustainable concrete materials for smart cities world-wide. Considering the current COVID-19 pandemic, articles related to new (building) material development for resilient construction will be of interest. Implementing sustainability can enhance quality of our life and thus granting us a healthy life and promote economic, social, and environmental circumstances. Melena appropriate use of building materials helps in reducing negative environmental impact and life-cycle cost of buildings.

This paper proposes a set of parameters that affects selecting sustainable building materials. Then, a questionnaire survey is prepared to solicit the opinion of construction practitioners on the importance of these parameters. Accordingly, buildings materials are evaluated according to the amount of waste, the quantity of waste delivered to landfill, the amount of recyclable waste, life-cycle cost, melena health and safety index.

Because of the complex interrelations among melena parameters, a system dynamics model is created to simulate these interactions to enable evaluating building materials. Then, the Analytical Hierarch Process (AHP) is used to select the most sustainable building material depending on the evaluation parameters.

The main melena of the developed model is its ability to evaluate building materials based melena the identified parameters, along their life cycle and then selecting melena most appropriate one. A case study to appreciate the performance of common building materials like wood, concrete and steel is presented to melena the main features of the melena model.

The simulation results show that concrete is healthier melena safer than wood and steel. However, steel has the highest life cycle cost with the lowest amount of waste on landfill because of its high recyclable melena. This development will help decision-makers to select suitable building materials for construction projects.
